At The Laurels of Toledo, we're always looking for new ways to improve our patients' health and mobility. We are proud to bring the latest rehabilitation technology to our community with revolutionary equipment that helps our patients reach new heights.
Introducing the NASA-engineered Alter-G Anti-Gravity Treadmill, providing comfortable, partial-weight bearing therapy that allows patients to literally "defy gravity" while gaining strength and balance. By incorporating the Alter-G into your individualized therapy plan, you'll have access to the same advanced rehabilitation the world's top athletes already enjoy.
The Laurels of Toledo is the only facility in northwest Ohio to offer this revolutionary equipment, and it's available through flexible seven-day-a-week outpatient therapy and inpatient rehabilitation. Best of all, we contract with most insurances to keep out of pocket expenses to a minimum. Call us today to learn more about how we can help you reach your peak!
AlterG helps you to regain mobility, develop strength and fitness, and increase range of motion and natural movement – all while minimizing stress on injuries. It can take you down to just 20% of your body weight, which allows you to rehab, train through injury and build strength.
First things first, you’ll suit up in wetsuit-type shorts. A physical therapist or aide will then help you step into the treadmill bag and pull it up to the correct height. Once you’re zipped into the bag, it will inflate and you’ll be walking on air. AlterG can de-load your body weight in 1% increments to the point where movement no longer hurts so as to aid in recovery.
The AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill is the perfect tool for recovery from lower extremity injuries, joint replacement surgeries, gait training and strengthening, weight loss, and injury prevention.
Come try it out today and feel what it’s like to get back to your best!
“I love this thing! It allows you to increase or decrease the speed and weighting, depending on what you’re able to handle, so you can find that perfect balance for your body. Four days after surgery, I was walking at up to 60 percent of my body weight.”-Thomas Allred
“As soon as I got in there, I was saying, ‘Look, Mom, no hands!’”-Danny Bridge
